Abstract
The observed metal-ligand bond lengths in the mixed-valence complex I) (mu-OH)(mu-pivalonato)(2)-Mn(III)ttacn](ClO4)(2) show a significant te mperature dependence in the 20-298 K range. Spectroscopic and crystall ographic evidence indicates the temperature dependence to be due to a superposition of two orientations with different energies in the cryst al, which are interconverted by electron transfer between the metal ce nters.
