Abstract
The structure of a new furano-eudesmane alcohol from the liverwort Lop hocolea heterophylla has been established as furano-eudesma-4(15),7,11 -trien-5 alpha-ol 1 by means of spectroscopic methods. During the inve stigation the conversion of the new compound to the previously describ ed 5 alpha,8 beta-dihydroxy-eudesma-4(15),7(11)-dien-8,12-olide was ob served.
