The structures of 10 diterpenoids, isolated from the ether extract of
the New Zealand liverwort Jamesoniella tasmanica, have been establishe
d by extensive 2D NMR techniques. They were shown to be 13-epi-neoverr
ucosane-, ent-kaurane- and 13-epi-neohomoverrucosane-type diterpenoids
. This is the first report of the isolation of a 13-epi-neohomoverruco
sane-type diterpenoid, although biosynthetically it is an expected con
stituent of liverworts. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
