Ca. Williams et al., PEAK AEROBIC FITNESS OF VISUALLY-IMPAIRED AND SIGHTED ADOLESCENT GIRLS, Journal of visual impairment & blindness, 90(6), 1996, pp. 495-500
This study compared the aerobic fitness of 10 visually impaired and 10
sighted girls who performed a discontinuous incremental treadmill tes
t to exhaustion. It found that there was no significant difference bet
ween the peak oxygen intake of the two groups. The results indicate th
at visually impaired children can attain aerobic fitness levels simila
r to those of sighted children.
