E. Morishita et K. Ashihara, GROUND EFFECT CALCULATION OF A 2-DIMENSIONAL AIRFOIL OVER A WAVY SURFACE, Transactions of the Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences, 39(125), 1996, pp. 274-282
There are already some works on the ground effect calculation of two-d
imensional airfoils flying over a wavy surface. The panel method is ut
ilized to handle the same problem in this report. The infinite wavy su
rface is approximated by a finite number of panels. This inviscid inco
mpressible unsteady flow can be determined by the boundary conditions
on the body surfaces, the Kelvin theorem and the Kutta condition at th
e trailing edge. The amplitudes of the aerodynamic forces are maximal
when the chord length of a two-dimensional airfoil approaches the wave
length of the wavy surface.
