Abstract
(R)-(1-Naphthyl)glycyl-(R)-phenylglycine forms inclusion compounds wit h ethers (tetrahydrofuran and diethyl ether) or allylic alcohols (2-pr open-1-ol and 2-methyl-2-propen-1-ol). X-ray crystallographic study sh owed that the dipeptide has the ability to optionally form ''parallel or antiparallel'' beta-sheet-like structures by the choice of ethers o r allylic alcohols, respectively, as the guest molecules.
