Abstract
Synthesis of a number of tricyclic compounds with a fused isoxazole, p yrazole, thiophene and thiadiazole ring systems starting from 4-methox ycarbonyl and 4-hydroxymethylene-2, 3, 4, 5-tetrahydro-1-tosyl-1-benza zepin-5(1H)-one has been described. Biological testing of these compou nds for their anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activities have been carr ied out.
