The infrared spectrum of cyanogen fluoride (FCN) in the 1800 to 2800 c
m(-1) region has been recorded with a Fourier transform spectrometer a
t an instrumental resolution of 0.0026 cm(-1). A total of 6822 absorpt
ion lines have been measured with an accuracy better than 6 x 10(-4) c
m(-1). Forty-nine bands of (FCN)-F-19-C-12-N-14, twelve of (FCN)-F-19-
C-13-N-14, and four of (FCN)-F-19-C-12-N-15 have been analyzed. For th
ese bands, the band origins and rotational constants B-v, D-v, H-v, an
d L(v) as well as q(v), q(Dv), and q are reported. We have also detect
ed for the first time a perturbation in the 30 degrees 0 vibrational s
tate. This perturbation is interpreted as due to an indirect effect of
the two first-order anharmonic resonances between 30 degrees 0 and 02
degrees 1. (C) 1997 Academic Press, Inc.
