F. Elkhatabi et al., ELECTROCHEMICAL OXIDATION OF ZINC PLUS NICKEL-ALLOYS IN AMMONIUM BATHS, Journal of electroanalytical chemistry [1992], 419(1), 1996, pp. 71-76
Electrochemical stripping techniques were used to characterize zinc nickel alloys obtained from an ammonium bath. Different electrochemica
l and ex situ techniques were applied to ensure the selective oxidatio
n of the alloy components. The voltammetric peaks obtained at more neg
ative potentials during the oxidation process were due to the dissolut
ion of the less noble component (zinc) from the different phases of th
e alloy, while the peak at more positive potentials corresponded to th
e oxidation of nickel. Moreover, the possibility of a phase transition
during the oxidation process of zinc + nickel alloys is also discusse
