Abstract
Iodine, either alone or in combination with DDQ, has been found to ser ve as a very efficient reagent for the conversion of 'disarmed' glycos yl halides into simple 1,2-trans-glycosides. This reagent system repre sents a practical alternative to traditional heavy metal promoters in glycoside synthesis. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
