Abstract
We present a theory of the nonlinear optical response of cavity embedd ed interacting electron systems which does not rely on semiclassical f actorization. The theory provides a unified basis for understanding no nlinear quantum dynamics in cavity embedded quantum wells. Nonclassica l behavior of transmitted light is found.
