A number of recent works on the relation between galactic environment
and the properties of nearby galaxies is reviewed. The 3D nature of th
e quantities used is stressed, together with the importance of conside
ring the environment at different scales. The results obtained are rep
orted, with a special attention to the small- and large-scale segregat
ion of low-luminosity AGNs hosted in early-type spirals. Finally, an o
utline of future projects on this subject is presented.
