The 193 nm photodissociation mechanism of Cd(CH3)(2) adsorbed on a qua
rtz substrate at 170 K has been studied by means of laser-induced fluo
rescence time-of-flight spectroscopy, The translational energy distrib
ution of the ejected neutral Cd atoms is characterized by two differen
t distributions; one is a modified Boltzmann distribution with a tempe
rature of 230 +/- 30 K and the other is that with a temperature of 100
0 +/- 200 K.
