Abstract
We have demonstrated a novel add/drop filter for use in wavelength-div ision-multiplexing (WDM) optical fiber systems based on a Bragg gratin g assisted mismatched coupler. The de,ice is potentially easy to fabri cate and stable, because it is not interferometric, unlike all similar devices demonstrated so far, and, therefore, does not need fine tunin g of the interferometers during fabrication and does not have to maint ain the balance of the interferometers during its lifetime.
