Abstract
The paper presents a theoretical analysis for estimating the abrasive particle velocity in air-abrasive jet using continuum approach applied to two-phase flow system. Subsequently a theoretical model for predic ting the material removal rate in abrasive jet machining (drilling) ha s been developed using semi-empirical fracture mechanics relationships and quasi-static indentation approach. Numerical results have been co mputed and compared with experimental results.
