GRAVITATIONAL SCATTERING OF QUANTUM-FIELDS AND SPACETIME GEOMETRY

We compute the lowest order quantum correction to the elastic scatteri ng cross section for a massive spin-0 particle interacting with an ext ernal gravitational field. The result shows that quantum effects induc e a breakdown of the geometrical picture afforded by the classical pri nciple of equivalence.
