Abstract
The detailed electron temperature profile (spatial resolution: 0.86 cm ) of a low density JFT-2M plasma is measured with the TV Thomson scatt ering system (TVTS). Flat profiles showing the electron temperature sh apes of m = 2/n = 1 islands are presented, which are in contrast to th at without islands. On the other hand, the m = 2/n = 1 islands are eff ectively suppressed with local ECRH heating.
