The sliding and triggered spark spectrum of gold has been observed in
the wavelength range of 554-2080 Angstrom, where 657 lines have been c
lassified as 5d(7)6s-5d(7)6p transitions. Twenty-nine of the 34 levels
of the 5d(7)6s configuration have been found and the known levels of
5d(7)6p are increased from 64-95. In both parities, noticeable perturb
ations are due to configuration mixings within the groups (54 + 6s)(8)
and (5d + 6s)(7)6p. Theoretical oscillator strengths are given for a
selected number of strong AuIV lines.
