Relative cross-sections for argon cluster ionization by electron impac
t in the energy range from the threshold up to 125 eV are measured. Ar
clusters were generated in a supersonic molecular beam. The particles
were detected using an electron bombardment cross-beam ionizer. The e
xact values of the ionization thresholds are obtained for Ar-N (N = 1,
..., 12). In several ionization cross-section curves an additional st
ructure was revealed.
