Abstract
A geothermal heat-powered, low-temperature Rankine cycle is suitable f or the operation of a conventional mechanical compression heat-pump cy cle in providing heating and cooling loads. This system is analyzed us ing a finite-time thermodynamic approach. The only irreversibilities a re associated with heat transfer between the system and surrounding th ermal reservoirs.
