Ta. Borisova et al., BINDING OF TRANSLATION PRODUCTS OF SECRETED PROTEIN MESSENGER-RNA TO ARTIFICIAL PHOSPHOLIPID-VESICLES, Biochemistry, 59(10), 1994, pp. 1097-1101
The possibility for translocation of eucaryotic extracellular proteins
through phospholipid membrane initially containing no protein compone
nts has been studied. The level of translocation was shown to be consi
derably dependent on the physicochemical properties of the membrane. I
t was found that eucaryotic secreted proteins can pass through the pho
spholipid bilayer by co-translational and in some cases by post-transl
ational interaction with it.
