Kt. Yang, RECENT DEVELOPMENT IN-FIELD MODELING OF COMPARTMENT FIRES, JSME international journal. Series B, fluids and thermal engineering, 37(4), 1994, pp. 702-717
The current status of field modelling of fire spread in compartment fi
res is reviewed in terms of the recent development of field models. Em
phasis is placed on the development of several critical submodels for
turbulence, thermal radiation, turbulent combustion, and also for hand
ling complex compartment geometries, as well as od the validation of t
he held models with experimental data based on full-scale fire tests.
The shortcomings of the current held models and critical research need
s are then identified and discussed.
