Monomacromolecular films of poly(co)methacrylates of linear and anchor
ing structure formed at the surface of aluminum foil during polymer ad
sorption from solution were studied by wetting with two liquids (water
or glycerol). Such films are permeable for the wetting liquid, which
is in partial contact with the substrate surface. An additive model wh
ere the substrate-polymer wetted system is considered as a planar hete
rogeneous surface was proposed to evaluate quantitatively the substrat
e structure of adsorbed surface layers. This model was used to estimat
e the parameters of the polymer layer: the fraction of segments attach
ed to the surface, porosity, and film thickness. The obtained paramete
rs were applied to analyze the relationship between copolymer nature a
nd film structure.
