Nt. Akinchan et al., SYNTHESIS, MAGNETIC MEASUREMENTS AND SPECTROSCOPIC STUDIES OF COPPER(I) AND COPPER(II) COMPLEXES OF THIOSEMICARBAZONES DERIVED FROM AROMATIC-ALDEHYDES AND KETONES, Synthesis and reactivity in inorganic and metal-organic chemistry, 26(10), 1996, pp. 1735-1751
Copper(I) and copper(II) complexes of the thiosemicarbazone derivative
s of p-anisaldehyde (ATSZH), p-tolualdehyde (TTSZH), vanillin (VTSZH)
and fluorenone (FTSZH) have been prepared and characterized by element
al analysis; IR, Raman and electronic spectral studies; and magnetic m
easurements. Changes in selected vibrational absorptions of the ligand
s upon coordination are discussed. Based on magnetic and spectroscopic
data, the structures for the complexes are proposed as follows: polym
eric for [Cu(TTSZ)(n), [Cu(ATSZ)(n) and [Cu(VTSZ)(n) . nH(2)O and liga
nd bridged binuclear for [Cu(VTSZ)Cl](2) . H2O, [Cu(VTSZ)(CH3COO)](2),
[Cu(FTSZ)(2)](2) . 2H(2)O, and [Cu(FTSZ)Cl](2) . 2H(2)O.
