In this article, we study the eigenvalues of the one dimensional Schro
dinger operator which are located near a local maximum of the potentia
l. This work completes [2], where we studied the microlocal concentrat
ion of the corresponding eigenfunctions. For the particular case of th
e symmetric double-well potential, we describe the transition zone bet
ween pairs of exponentially close eigenvalues (parity doublets) and re
gularly spaced eigenvalues as the energy grows.
