Solidification principles have been applied to construct a space model
and a pseudo-binary phase diagram of the BaO-Y2O3-CuOx ternary system
for the liquid-phase-epitaxial (LPE) growth of YBa2Cu3Ox films. Exper
imental data such as film orientation and transition temperature, obta
ined from the LPE-grown films, are in excellent agreement with those o
btained from other techniques.
