Abstract
The reversibility of the reaction of YBa2Cu3O7 with lithium has been s tudied by electrochemical methods. For very low lithium contents (less than 0.05 moles/formula) a reversible reaction occurs and the origina l structure remains unchanged. For higher lithium contents the reducti on process is irreversible as it involves the formation of YBa2Cu4O8.
