S. Stassen et al., MAGNETIC ALIGNMENT IN RARE-EARTH SUBSTITUTED BI-BASED 2212-SUPERCONDUCTING MATERIALS, Physica. C, Superconductivity, 235, 1994, pp. 515-516
We put into evidence the magnetic anisotropy of rare-earth substituted
Bi-based 2212 powder dispersed in epoxy resin at room temperature in
a 4T magnetic induction. We have also realized the in situ magnetic fi
eld texturing at 0.6T during the recrystallization process of Bi2Sr2Ca
0.8Dy0.2Cu2O8-y glassy precursors at different temperatures. X-ray dif
fraction analysis as well as electric resistance versus temperature me
asurements are presented. The results show the positive effect of the
magnetic induction on the grain orientation. The optimum sintering tem
perature T is found to be between 930 and 950 degrees C.
