Cd. Chung, PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF A SLOW FH MFSK ACQUISITION SCHEME IN RANDOM PARTIAL-BAND NOISE JAMMING/, IEE proceedings. Communications, 141(6), 1994, pp. 396-406
A post-detection-combining matched-filter scheme for coarse acquisitio
n of slow frequency hopping/multiple frequency shift keying signals, b
ased on a convergent infinite series approach, is analysed. An analyti
cal formula is developed which characterises acquisition performance b
oth in a benign broadband Gaussian noise channel and in an adverse env
ironment containing random partial-band noise jamming. Detection and f
alse alarm probabilities are evaluated for various jamming conditions.
It is shown that the scheme is relatively insensitive in miss detecti
on performance, while vulnerable in false alarm performance, to jammin
g. By increasing the number of largest squared envelopes combined or b
y widening the spread-spectrum band, a significant improvement in perf
ormance of the worst case can be achieved.
