Am. Korsunsky et Da. Hills, THE SOLUTION OF PLANE CRACK PROBLEMS BY DISLOCATION DIPOLE PROCEDURES, Journal of strain analysis for engineering design, 30(1), 1995, pp. 21-27
The solution of crack problems by employing dislocation loops (or dipo
les) as strain nuclei is described. The relationship between this tech
nique and dislocation density methods is outlined, the advantages of t
he former being illustrated by practical examples. The procedure also
has the merit of being capable of extension to three-dimensional probl
ems.
