Abstract
The European Payload Coordination Center (E-POCC) as part of the Manne d Space Laboratories Control Center (MSCC) at DLR Oberpfaffenhofen wil l be responsible for European payload operations coordination on board the Space Station Freedom (SSMB). That means, for all European experi mentation onboard the Columbus Attached Laboratory (APM) or elsewhere on the Space Station the E-POCC function will be, to act as single poi nt of contact between the European user community NASA Payload Operati ons and Integration Center (POIC). This task comprises the integration of user requirements into planning and replanning inputs to the POIC, command coordination, payload resource envelope monitoring, European payload safety and health assurance and end-to-end data distribution c oordination. The planned services to be provided to the decentralized User community (Experimenters and their User Support and Operations Ce nters-USOC's) by the E-POCC will be outlined together with the prelimi nary E-POCC facility design and the most important interfaces to the o ther participating organizations.
