Single crystals of ammonium perrhenate (NH4ReO4) and potassium perrhen
ate (KReO4) when gamma-irradiated at 77 K gave new paramagnetic center
s. The paramagnetic centers formed at 77 K are identified as ReO3 and
O- in both the samples. However, when temperature variation studies we
re carried out, it was found that these centers dissociate into Re-O a
nd O-3(-) at about 230 K. The g-tensor and hyperfine (A) tenser for al
l the centers observed in both the systems are found to be isotropic.
