APPARENT DEPTH WITH MOTION AFTEREFFECT AND HEAD MOVEMENT

Coupling a motion aftereffect (MAE) produced by horizontal shearing mo tion with a lateral head movement yields apparent depth. In experiment s 1 and 2, respectively, the magnitude and the decay time of this appa rent depth were measured. In experiment 3, it was found that the stimu lus that produced an MAE in experiments 1 and 2 failed to do so when i t was viewed while the head moved leftward and rightward and depth was seen.
