The average valence of Pr in PrBa2Cu3Oy was measured by coulometric ti
tration method. Consequently, the value was +3.00+/-0.02 for both samp
les of the oxygen content y= 6 and 7. This fact means that holes still
exist in PrBa2Cu3O7 phase, while they should be localized. The hole l
ocalization may be caused by the hybridization of Pr-4f and O-2p bands
, which were supported by our NQR and NMR experiments reported elsewhe
re in this conference.
