Single-phase polycrystalline samples of Y1-xPrxSr2Cu2.7Mo0.3O7-delta (
0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 1) with tetragonal per
ovskite structure were synthesized and investigated by X-ray-diffracti
on and electrical-resistivity measurements. It is found that the T-c d
ecreases monotonically with Pr concentration x from T-c similar to 33
K for x=0 to T-c similar to 12 K for x=0.7. Even though the resistivit
y of PrSr(2)Cu(2.7)M(0.3)O(7-delta) exhibits a semiconducting behavior
, the value of room-temperature resistivity remains the same order of
magnitude as superconducting YSr2Cu2.7Mo0.3O7-delta. The possible mech
anisms for the suppression of superconductivity in Y1-xPrxSr2Cu2.7Mo0.
3O(7-delta) are discussed and compared with those proposed for Y1-xPrx
Ba2Cu3O7-delta.
