Abstract
The fluorination treatment at 200 degrees C of La2-xBaxCuO4 compounds with x = 0.08, 0.125 and 0.15 leads to superconducting materials havin g a same critical temperature of T-c similar to 32K. The investigation of these compounds by neutron powder diffraction shows that the halog enation process drastically modifies their structural properties. Part icularly: it is observed a decrease of the orthorhombic distortion in the LTO-phase (x = 0.08 and 0.125) and a reduction of the tilt angle o f the [CuO6] octahedra in the LTT-phase (x = 0.125).
