Superconducting properties of Pb0.4Bi1.8Ca2.2Sr2.0Cu3Oy and Pb0.3Bi1.7
Ca2.4Sr1.6Cu3Oy ceramics were studied by measurements of magnetization
and electrical resistivity. The activation energy of pinning at 4.2 K
for Pb0.3Bi1.7Ca2.4Sr1.6Cu3Oy was found to be higher than for Pb0.4Bi
1.8Ca2.2Sr2.0Cu3Oy; at 77 K we observed the opposite tendency. The cri
tical current density was estimated to be of order 10(6) A/cm(2) and 1
0(3) A/cm(2) at 4.2 K and 77 K, respectively. The irreversibility line
was found to vary as a power law (1-Ti-irr/T-c) = AH(n), where A and
n are sample dependent constants related to the flux pinning propertie
s of the samples.
