Abstract
The wrapping of graphite planes into fullerenes induces, among other i nteresting properties an increase of the superconducting temperature i n their corresponding intercalation compounds that has been attributed to the cluster structure. This motivates the search for similar behav iour starting from other layered systems. Particularly interesting are the copper oxides. We discuss their possible properties and make conn ection with already existing materials.
