Abstract
A universal relation cot theta(H=rho)/R(H)B = alpha T-2 + C for the Ha ll angle theta(H) has been experimentally observed in a wide variety o f high-T-c systems. In contrast to the linear temperature dependence o f the resistivity rho or the inverse Hall coefficient R(H)(-1), the T- 2-dependence of cot theta(H) remains valid in under- and overdoped sys tems. We present a systematic study of cot theta(H)(T) in oxygen defic ient epitaxial YBa2Cu3Ox thin films. We find evidence for a linear rel ation between alpha, the slope of cot theta(H) versus T-2, and the car rier concentration. Moreover, we find a steep increase in the intercep t C = cot theta(H)(T = 0) below x similar or equal to 6.6.
