Am. Ghorayeb et al., ZERO RESISTANCE AT 97-K WITH METALLIC OUT-OF-PLANE BEHAVIOR IN BI2SR2CACU2O8 SINGLE-CRYSTALS, Physica. C, Superconductivity, 235, 1994, pp. 1423-1424
In this paper, we report on the electrical resistivity of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O
8 single crystals, both in the ab-plane and along the c-axis. The samp
les show metallic behaviour in both directions and an anisotropy ratio
(rho(c)/rho(ab) approximate to 170 at room temperature) lower than wh
at is currently known in the literature. Furthermore, zero resistance
is obtained at 97 K, the highest T-c(0) reported so far for this compo
und. We discuss these properties in terms of an interplane coupling th
at would be stronger than what is normally obtained in this compound.
