Abstract
With XRD, R-T curves and chi(ac) measurements the doping of vanadium t o (Bi,Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system has been studied. It was observed that whi le a small concentration of V strongly reduces T-ro and the amount of 2223 phase, a somewhat larger concentration restores the superconducti ng properties and the 2223 phase amount to almost the original ones. T his anormal effect might be related to a change of vanadium valence as dependent on its concentration.
