In this paper, we report the long range oscillatory spin polarization
effects of Ni and Zn doping in YBa2CU3O7 by Y-89 NMR. From comparison
of the magnetic moments of the Ni and Zn impurities measured by suscep
tibility (p(Ni)=1.6 mu(B) and p(Zn)=0.36 mu B) with the impurity-induc
ed NMR linewidths, we find that the Ni moments couple much more weakly
to the conduction band than the Zn moments, by a factor which might b
e as large as 21.
