D. Ariosa et al., DEPRESSION OF THE ZERO-TEMPERATURE SUPERFLUID DENSITY IN YBA2CU3O7 PRBA2CU3O7 HETEROSTRUCTURES/, Physica. C, Superconductivity, 235, 1994, pp. 1801-1802
Heterostructures made of thick (15 unit cells) insulating PrBa2Cu3O7(P
BCO) and thin superconducting YBa2Cu3O7(YBCO), such as [PBCO](15)/[YBC
O](n)/[PBCO](15) trilayers and decoupled [YBCO](n)/[PBCO](15) superlat
tices [n=1,2... unit cells (UC)], were prepared by an in-situ laser ab
lation technique. Both T-c and the inverse kinetic inductance L(K)(-1)
(T), which is proportional to the effective superfluid density, are fo
und to be depressed with respect to the corresponding values in bulk Y
BCO. This behaviour is attributed to quantum phase fluctuations induce
d by charging effects in the CuO2 planes.
