Abstract
A survey is given of recent work carried out in Nottingham on the inte raction of phonons with magnetically quantized two-dimensional electro n gases (2DEGs). The work described includes energy dissipation in 2DE G Hall bars and phonon studies of the fractional quantum Hall state.
