We study the history-dependence of diamagnetic response of superconduc
ting La1.8Sr.2CuO4 ceramics in a magnetic field. In this material the
granulas are weakly coupled by Josephson junctions, and these coupling
s are frustrated by the magnetic field. We separate the magnetic respo
nse due to intergranular Josephson currents and intragranular currents
. We find a strong history-dependence of magnetization which is the ev
idence of the ga uge glass state formed in this system at low temperat
ure. Our data are in a qualitative agreement with the developed MF the
ory of the gauge glass state.
