Abstract
The influence of twin boundaries on magnetic flux penetration and trap ping was studied using direct magnetooptic observations of magnetic fl ux patterns in inhomogeneously twinned YBCO crystals. The contribution of twin boundaries to the critical current and the twin boundary pinn ing energy have been determined.
