Abstract
The interaction of vortices with cylindrical defects is analyzed by an image method. In the case of layered superconductors, it allows to ca lculate the interaction between elementary (pancake) vortices and a ci rcular dielectric region. The obtained results are used for analyzing the strong pinning of vortices by dielectric precipitates in the super conducting matrix.
