Abstract
Measurements of electrical resistivity, AC and DC susceptibilities of a HoFe4Al8 single crystal were performed in the temperature range 4.2- 300 K. Magnetization studies were carried out at 4.2 and 77 K in field s up to 14 T. Magnetic anisotropy was observed for all directional inv estigations in the whole temperature range. An anomalous increase of t he electrical resistivity on cooling was found starting at 13 K. A T-2 -dependence of the electrical resistivity in the range 30-90 K and an antiferromagnetic transition at 185 K were observed. Thermomagnetic ef fects occurred in DC susceptibility below 40 K. AC susceptibility reve aled a sharp peak at 10 K.
