A bi(benzothiazolyl) (2) and a benzothiazino-benzothiazine (1), isomer
s obtained by condensation of glyoxal, butane-2,3-dione and benzil wit
h o-aminobenzenethiol, were subjected to an NMR analysis based on meas
urement of the C-13 satellites of the ring-fusion protons in the H-1 N
MR spectra; the structures of 1 and 2 were established by X-ray diffra
ction analyses.
