Abstract
A comparison of the products of osmylation of steroidal DELTA4- and DE LTA5-enes in the presence and absence of a complexing amine is reporte d and the results are interpreted in terms of a stepwise mechanism of osmylation in which the co-oxidant may determine the formation of some products.
